Cleaning and sanitation of the structure
Once mold has been removed, the structure and the surfaces around it still need cleaning. This is the step that deals with what removal leaves behind: settled dust, residue on framing, and the surfaces the work touched.
What the cleaning stage covers
The exposed structure
Framing, subfloor and any materials being kept rather than replaced, inside the contained area.
HEPA vacuuming and damp wiping
Dust is captured rather than moved around, with filtration running while the work is done.
Contents that can be saved
Hard surfaces and many belongings can be cleaned. Anything that cannot be is identified and listed for you.
Drying, then handover
The area is left dry and ready for repair or rebuilding.
Why cleaning is needed after the mold is gone
Removal takes out the affected material. It does not take out the dust and residue that removal creates. Cleaning is what deals with that, and it is the step that decides whether the area is left in a state fit for rebuilding.

Questions about this stage
Will my furniture and belongings be cleaned too?
Where it is practical, yes. Hard surfaces and many contents can be cleaned. Porous items that have absorbed moisture and growth often cannot be, and we will tell you which is which rather than clean something that should be replaced.
What happens after the cleaning is finished?
The area is dried and left ready for repair or rebuilding. If post-remediation verification is wanted, that is an assessment activity — and because we perform only one of the two roles on any given project, an independent assessor would carry it out.
Do you do the rebuilding as well?
Cleaning leaves the area ready for repair. Rebuilding is a separate trade, and we will say so rather than quote for work that is not ours.

One role per project
Mold assessment and remediation are performed under Florida DBPR licenses held by Mauricio Gutierrez: Mold Assessor MRSA3298 and Mold Remediator MRSR3880. On any given project we perform one of the two roles, not both.
