Containment in affected areas
Before any mold is disturbed, we close off the work area so that dust and spores are not carried into the rest of the building. Containment is the first physical step of remediation, and it is what keeps a small job from becoming a whole-house job.
How we set up containment
Seal the area
Sheeting and tape across openings, with doorways and vents covered so the work area is a closed space.
Put it under negative pressure
Filtered air machines draw air out of the contained area rather than push it into the rest of the property.
Set up controlled access
A walk-through entry lets our team come and go without breaking the seal.
Keep it up until the work is done
Barriers stay in place through removal, cleaning and drying — not just through the noisy part.
Why the area is sealed at all
Removing mold disturbs it. Cutting, scraping and lifting materials releases far more spores and dust into the air than sitting undisturbed does. Sealing the area first means that what is released stays in the room being worked on.

Questions about this stage
How much of my property will be closed off?
Only what needs to be. We size containment to the affected area, not the building. We will show you where the barriers will go before we put them up, and tell you which rooms stay usable during the work.
How long does containment stay up?
Until the removal and cleaning are finished and the area has dried. Taking barriers down early defeats the point of putting them up. We tell you the expected timescale at the start and let you know if it changes.
Can I stay in the property?
Often yes, depending on the size and location of the contained area. We will tell you before we start rather than after.

One role per project
Mold assessment and remediation are performed under Florida DBPR licenses held by Mauricio Gutierrez: Mold Assessor MRSA3298 and Mold Remediator MRSR3880. On any given project we perform one of the two roles, not both.
