How these are written

Where the health statements come from

Anything on these pages about health effects is attributed to the EPA or the CDC and describes what happens to some people, because that is what those bodies actually say. Where a widely repeated claim is not supported — the links commonly drawn between household mold and memory loss, for instance — we say that it is not supported, rather than repeating it.

We assess and remediate buildings. We are not qualified to tell you what a building has done to your body, and we have an obvious commercial reason to overstate it, so we do not go there. If you are unwell, talk to a doctor.
